Work Package 4

Design and development of a testbed for validation and verification.


Task 4.1: Definition of criteria and methodology for testing. Development of test cases for validation and verification of the algorithms

  • Activity 4.1.1: Criteria and metrics for result assessment - analysis of the criteria and definition of the metrics for result assessment.
  • Activity 4.1.2: Definition of the test cases.
  • Activity 4.1.3: Necessary and sufficient conditions for assessing the results from the experiments - definition of necessary and sufficient conditions for assessing the results from the experiments.

Deliverables:

- Report for the defined criteria, test methodology and description of the test cases

 


Task 4.2: Design and development of a testbed to validate and verify the developed methods and algorithms.

  • Activity 4.2.1: System architecture for stimulating separate sensory channels - selection of an appropriate system architecture and technical means for stimulating separate sensory channels.
  • Activity 4.2.2: Integration of available programming applications with designed and implemented software modules - integration of selected available applications with designed and implemented software modules to assert the functionality of the testbed.

Deliverables:

- Description of the selected system architecture and the used, designed and realized software modules

- Testbed

 


Task 4.3: Using the developed testbed conduct experimental studies of specific real world examples in the fields of engineering and medical science.

  • Activity 4.3.1: Experimental scenarios and conducting of planned experiments for solving engineering problems - design of experimental scenarios and conducting of planned experiments for solving engineering problems connected with the immersive representation of strength, thermal and surface implicit features of the objects.
  • Activity 4.3.2: Experimental scenarios and conducting of planned experiments in the fields of medical diagnosis - design of experimental scenarios and conducting of planned experiments in the fields of medical diagnosis and treatment based on magnetic field influence.
  • Activity 4.3.3: Cooperative work in a virtual reality environment - experimenting and research of the possibilities for cooperative work in a virtual reality environment with the project partners from the Karlsruher Institute for Technology, Germany.

Deliverables:

- Report for the conducted experiments for solving engineering problems, representation of magnetic field features from the field of medical diagnosis and the cooperative work in a virtual reality environment

 


Task 4.4: Analysis of the results obtained from the experiments and refinement of the developed algorithms to optimize their functionality.

  • Activity 4.4.1: Assessment of the potential for practical applicability - assessment of the potential of the developed methods, algorithms and techniques on their practical applicability.

- Report for the conducted experiments and assessment of the potential for practical applicability
